ACoRP gets two new Board Members

ACoRP gets two new Board Members

12 Mar, 2016

The annual general meeting on 4th March saw two new directors elected to our board. At the same time we said goodbye to two old friends of ACoRP of many years standing who retired from the board: Chris Austin OBE and Paul Salveson MBE. Both had played key roles in the formation of community rail. Philip Jenkinson remarked in jest that whilst Paul had the original idea Chris had made it legal.

From the Mid Cheshire CRP rail officer Sally Buttifant joins the board. A passionate supporter of community rail who sees ACoRP as having unrealised potential to take community rail to the next level. Sally plays a key role in Women in Community Rail. Our other new director is Michael Willmot, chair of the North Staffordshire CRP which covers the Derby to Crewe line. He has a particular interest in stations as community hubs and has put this into practice through the Helmsdale station project in the north of Scotland. Welcome to both!
