Community rail accreditation update – February 2020

4 Feb, 2020

The community rail partnership accreditation process continues, with seven more partnerships completing the process and being awarded accreditated status. Congratulations to Community Rail Lancashire, Esk Valley Railway Development Company, Derwent Valley Line Community Rail Partnership, Abbey Line Community Rail Partnership, Poacher Line Community Rail Partnership, Hereward Community Rail Partnership and Bishop Line Community Rail Partnership.

Accreditation means that a partnership has met the Department for Transport’s, and where relevant the Welsh Government’s, standards for appropriate operation. The accreditation system for community rail partnerships in England and Wales commenced on April 2019. Designated status for community rail lines or services in England will remain in place until 31 March 2020 or until the community rail partnership’s accreditation application has been processed.
