Hi everyone. We hope you’re well. This week we’re updating on our forthcoming events, and encouraging you to get involved.
Don’t forget, you can access our main Covid-19 guidance here – it continues to be updated weekly to ensure we’re up to date and in line with the latest advice.
Thanks to everyone for continuing to feed in examples and stories on your activities to Nik, our communications & marketing manager, which is essential to us being able to share good practice and ideas across the movement.
Community Rail Awards
Make sure you have the date in your diary for our big online event: Weds 9 Dec, late afternoon/early evening (timings tbc). Thanks to the efforts of our fantastic judges, judging is mostly done, and the shortlist will be announced on 10 Aug on our website and social media. All those shortlisted will get an email with a shortlist e-certificate at the same time. Also see on our new ‘Railway Family Supporting Communities Award‘, which we’re seeking nominations for.
This will be a different awards than we’re used to, but there’s quite a buzz already, with several groups looking at ways that they might be able to gather a few people together and hold their own party, while streaming our event. Do let our events team know if you are planning anything like this: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join the discussion on recovery
All our members and partners are encouraged to join our next webinar, on community rail’s role in Covid-19 recovery. It will be structured around the themes in our recent briefing, which you can read here, continuing the conversation on this crucial issue. You’ll have a chance to share ideas and experiences on how community rail can play a maximum part in ‘building back better’, joined by DfT, Rail Delivery Group, and other transport and government partners. 2:30 – 4pm, 12 Aug – book now
Have your say on decarbonising transport
Our following webinar gives community rail partnerships and groups a chance to input directly into the DfT’s Transport Decarbonisation Plan with your experiences in promoting sustainable travel: 2 – 3:30pm, 24 Aug – book now. You can also feed in via the DfT’s online survey.
