Community Rail Lancashire promote women in STEM

4 Dec, 2019

Every year, Community Rail Lancashire (CRL), takes hundreds of young women and girls out on the rail network to explore their views of rail use and employment for Women Who Wander. This year, they are keen to get other community rail partnerships and other groups involved in facilitating their own trips for women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).

Community Rail Lancashire are available to support community rail partnerships and community rail groups in planning and a delivering a trip for a group of women or girls. All you need to do is have a group in mind. CRL can help plan a session, a trip to a rail venue or a meeting with women currently working in rail. If you don’t need CRL staff assistance, they would be delighted to receive entries from your group before 14 February 2020.

Entries can be a piece of writing, art or photography. Examples of previous winning pieces can be found at on CRL’s Down The Line website. CRL would be delighted to invite any CRPs or groups who participate to the incredible celebration event on 9 March 2020, at York’s National Railway Museum, and will also give the CRP or group recognition in the final winners’ booklet.

If you are interested in taking part, CRL has a range of resources which will assist in delivery, or you can contact a CRL staff member directly or email info@downtheline.org.uk
