East Grinstead is dressed up for Christmas

7 Dec, 2018

Sussex’s East Grinstead Station is feeling lot more Christmassy, thanks to the efforts of volunteers, school children and local businesses. Twelve trees in total have been installed by the station partner Andrew Morris.  The trees have been sponsored by local businesses and decorations were made by the children (and no doubt some parents) of the local Montessori  Nursery School.  Even on a grey damp day, the trees twinkled and sparkled and brought some festive cheer to the station.  This was a large project for Andrew to organise on his own but the results will be admired and talked about all over the festive season.

Andrew who is a professional landscape gardener, gives up some of his limited spare time to help keep the extensive station gardens in order.  The gardens are of such a size that there is a reliance on various groups including the Department for Transport, giving their annual volunteer days to come along and help with cutting back, weeding, planting and hopefully have some fun.
