Take a look at highlights from our 2019 event.

We’re getting ready for 2021

Community Rail in the City provides Community Rail Network members the opportunity to showcase their railway lines, stations and nearby tourism offer while encouraging sustainable leisure travel at railway stations and venues across the country.

Due to the changing environment we are currently in, it looks unlikely our popular promotional event will run in the usual format in May. Instead, we are considering whether a digitally-focused event, such as a community rail discovery day campaign, could take its place on Wednesday 30 June. Details are still being confirmed, with more details to follow at the end of April.

In addition to this digital campaign, we are still hopeful that a live event could take place on the same day. This will depend on if the event can be delivered safely and within the current restrictions. We will continue to monitor UK government guidance and will provide an update when possible.

If a live event can go ahead we will be encouraging Community Rail Network members to stay local and have a display at a station along their line or perhaps work with a nearby attraction.

With regards planning activities, it is advised that you ensure any marketing materials (banners, leaflets, giveaways etc.) you are producing for the event can be re-used at a later date. For example, don’t include specific dates on your printed materials, unless of course you know they can be used at other events you are attending in the future. This is also good practice for keeping your activity as sustainable as possible.

If you are interested in taking part in either the digital or possible live event, contact Alice.
