Senior transport officer (community rail) – High Peak and Hope Valley CRP

The High Peak and Hope Valley Community Rail Partnership is looking for a new, part-time officer to join their team and help lead their work on the Manchester- Buxton, Manchester-Glossop and Manchester-Sheffield local services.

Working closely with the train operator Northern Rail, Derbyshire County Council and other local councils, the Peak National Park Authority as well as the many voluntary groups which make up the partnership, the successful applicant will play a key role in promoting rail services and increasing community involvement in the railway.

This is a wide ranging role which will include promoting the services and stations, leading and supporting volunteers, developing and implementing schemes and attracting additional funding for projects. Excellent communication and organisational skills are therefore essential, along with a ‘can do’ attitude. A basic understanding of the rail industry would also be helpful but not essential.
