The High Peak and Hope Valley Community Rail Partnership is looking for a part-time officer to join the team and help lead their work on the Manchester- Buxton, Manchester-Glossop and Manchester-Sheffield local rail routes.
Working closely with the train operator Northern, Derbyshire County Council and other local councils, the Peak National Park Authority as well as the many voluntary groups which make up the partnership, the successful applicant will play a key role in promoting rail services and increasing community involvement in the railway.
This is a wide ranging role which will include promoting the services and stations, leading and supporting volunteers, developing and implementing schemes and attracting additional funding for projects. Excellent communication and organisational skills are therefore essential, along with a ‘can do’ attitude. A basic understanding of the rail industry would also be helpful but not essential.
