After a successful 18 months as a community rail officer for The Poacher Line, my passion for this industry has grown. I would like to ensure the future of Community Rail is secure by bringing a new perspective to the board and offer some of the skills the board are needing to support the work of ACoRP effectively.
My various roles both in and outside of work including retail, voluntary and the third sector have given me vast experiences in the areas of marketing and HR. In a work capacity I was a PR officer for an equine charity for three years which saw me oversee the marketing and PR for a brand new visitor centre including a complete rebrand for the charity as well. Whilst working for the Lincolnshire Co-op, another member owned business I was in charge of all marketing, including new website and app development of their junior membership scheme. As a weekend team manager for Boots I was in charge of over 30 staff dealing with all HR issues including recruitment and disciplinary.
I’ve always actively played a role in my local community, volunteering opportunities have seen me Chair the local preschool, which involved all aspects of management and I’ve been actively involved in GirlGuiding for 16 years undertaking leadership training.
Most importantly I’ve always worked as part of a team with great enthusiasm in order to move the organisation forward and this I believe puts me a great position to support the long term growth and direction of ACoRP.
