I have been involved in community rail for over ten years as a rail support officer at Merseytravel.
I currently chair two rail partnerships and have a deep understanding of how CRPs work. I also Chair the award winning Women in Community Rail steering group which encourages diversity and inclusion. WiCR is now becoming recognised as a strategic player in community rail, which I believe I have played a significant role in developing.
I have skills in many areas but believe marketing and effective communications are the area which I can provide support to the board. I also hold a position in Sefton Council as Cabinet Member for Regeneration & Skills which in itself requires a high standard of integrity, ethical standards and ability to operate in a strategic space. Due to the nature of my role at Sefton the fundamental ability is to challenge and know what the right questions are to ask. I am responsible for a number of service areas at Sefton one those being business investment and growth and Tourism. I am able to spot potential business and growth opportunities whilst ensuring social value remains at the heart of any transactions.
I believe I am an effective and consensual leader which not only builds outward confidence but also creates the ‘buy in’ culture and builds respect, and creativity.
I believe I would be an asset to the ACoRP board and would bring a different dynamic and energy to the board.
