Network Rail has concluded a 100 Day Review, consulting stakeholders on how it can deliver the best possible service for passengers and freight on the railway network to create a ‘Railway for Everyone’. Community Rail was well represented in the feedback process, with CRPs attending several nationwide workshops. ACoRP fed in at a senior level the views and experiences of our members, and received a positive response from CEO Andrew Haines, expressing his comment to improvements.
One of the main comments to emerge from the feedback was the perception that Network Rail is difficult to engage with because of a lack of clarity over who community groups should work with. Network Rail have taken this feedback on board and will be creating guidance for community rail groups on better engagement. We’ll be working with Network Rail further to help develop its engagement of community rail over the coming months.
