Community rail development officer – North Notts and Lincs CRP

  • Location: Based at Retford Railway Station with a requirement for travel throughout Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, and Nottinghamshire
  • Job Term: Fixed Term Contract to 31March 2023
  • Hours: Part time – initially 18hrs per week with potential to increase.

North Notts & Lincs Community Rail Partnership (NNLCRP) is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and self-motivated person, with proven skills and experience, to manage a busy and varied workload promoting the the partnership and supporting the activities of its constituent area groups and station adopters. NNLCRP is concerned with integrating transport across the travellers’ journeys from door to door.

The North Notts and Lincs Community Rail Partnership (NNLCRP) is a community interest company working in association with local government, public transport operators and community groups. NNLCRP aims to bring together representatives of the local authorities, train and bus operating companies, infrastructure owners, funders, and a wide range of community groups, with the objective of securing the future of the stations and lines in the area of the NNLCRP through increased usage and revenue. Greater community involvement is a key element in the government’s Community Rail Development Strategy and the NNLCRP is committed to delivering elements of the strategy.

The successful applicant will be confident and comfortable meeting and working with a range of people across a wide spectrum of interests. Therefore the ability and personal motivation to pursue and deliver the objectives of NNLCRP whilst putting people at ease by obtaining consent and support is required. Marketing skills, the ability to communicate effectively, be computer literate and manage our website and social media activities, minute meetings, produce written reports and have the ability to work in partnership with others within NNLCRP and at partner organisations are essential requirements.

The post holder will need to undertake site visits traveling throughout the NNLCRP area and therefore applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have a vehicle available for work purposes. At times the post will include some occasional evening and weekend working.
