The Friends of Penmere Station recently celebrated their 25th Anniversary of custodianship by holding a “Party on the Platform”.
In glorious weather many people visited the small halt to look at the history of the station and learn about the hard work over a quarter of a century by the multi-award winning station adopters. The many attractions included a railwayana display, a Missions to Seafarers (Falmouth) table, a beer tent and refreshment stall.
There was also a extensive photographic and documentary history of both the station and the work of the volunteers, who have transformed the station. The Friends look forward to carrying on their recognised efforts into the future.
