A group of Rainbows have been congratulated on their ‘amazing’ work during a visit to Goostrey Station art studio.
Local artist Debbie Goldsmith ran an exciting print workshop for the Rainbow group from Holmes Chapel at the not-for-profit studio, which is situated inside the restored Victorian station building on platform one.
Accompanied by their leaders, the children enjoyed travelling to the venue by train, particularly crossing the viaduct high above the Dane Valley.
Debbie said: “The group did amazing work making bird prints. I could hardly believe that all the girls were under seven years old.”
Tables and chairs for the session were generously donated by the Shopfitting Warehouse and the Cygnet Club, Congleton, and the Friends of Goostrey Station are looking forward to improving the facilities further using a significant grant from the Community Fund of the National Lottery Awards for All.
Beavers and Cubs from Goostrey have already enjoyed workshops at the new studio, and all groups are encouraged to arrive via train or active travel. Anyone interested in taking a group to the studio can contact Debbie on deborahgoldsmith@me.com.
