Buxted station gains new station adopter

Southeast Communities Rail Partnership (SCRP) is pleased to welcome a new station partner at East Sussex’s Buxted station. 

Local resident, Ros Hawthorn noticed that the platform planters were sadly looking a bit neglected and overgrown.  Ros mentioned this to the station staff who told her that lockdown restrictions had affected community access to stations and various on-going projects.  As restrictions on station activities began to be were lifted, Ros asked SCRP if she could be given permission to start caring for them. She is now a fully signed-up station partner and proud caretaker of the platform planters. 

Eridge Station welcomes surprise visitor

Eridge station recently received a surprise visitor, as local MP Nus Ghani paid a visit to the East Sussex station. Nus has a special interest in the Access for All programme and dropped in to see for herself how lift installation work at the station is progressing.  The MP was giving a guided tour of the work by station staff member, Mike Freeland and SCRP’s Sharon Gray to see how access upgrades at the station have been progressing, and shared stories on how the local community has contributed and supported the various projects in and around the station.
