Community rail development manager

Full time, 35 hours per week         £31,832 per annum        Permanent post

Based at Lewes Station and home working.

A motivated and competent individual is required for this interesting, varied and challenging role.

Sussex Community Rail Partnership (SCRP) works to connect communities with their railways and to promote sustainable, accessible travel. We work along seven railway lines in Sussex, Kent and Surrey with a wide range of partners.

This post will work with the existing staff, partners and stakeholders. The manager is responsible for the management of SCRP staff, supporting the business objectives of the SCRP and its partners, marketing and communication, gaining funding, creating projects which address the partnerships’ aims and objectives. The post holder reports regularly to the SCRP Board.

They require a self-motivated person with excellent management and communication skills, a proven track record in a small complex organisation with a geographically dispersed staff and diverse partners, experience of community engagement and grant applications, and an interest in sustainable transport.

In return, they offer a flexible working environment, a duty train travel pass, a small but dedicated team atmosphere and generous holiday allowance. The post is based at Lewes and some home working is possible. Some evening and weekend work is required, and they are happy to discuss flexible working hours.
