Transport Focus Covid-19 return to rail travel – latest research summary (19 April 2021)

Passenger transport watchdog, Transport Focus has continued surveying 2,000 people over the eight months, to gauge attitudes on public transport use during the Covid-19 pandemic. The latest results are available here. We have been regularly summarising the figures for Community Rail News over the past few months.

  • There has been a significant uplift in rail journey satisfaction over the last couple of months, with an 81% overall satisfaction with rail users journeys.
  • 90% of rail users surveyed stated they felt safe on the train in relation to Covid-19. A further 81% expressed satisfaction with the overall cleanliness of the trains they travelled on, and 70% expressing satsifaction with their train operator in terms of safe travel messaging.
