South West Wales Connected Community Rail Partnership (SWWCCRP) have taken part in Swansea’s Green Recovery Business Conference this week.

Organised by Swansea Council and SWWCCRP’s host 4theRegion, the important event took place at Brangwyn Hall on Monday 27 June to help shape Swansea’s green recovery. At the top of the agenda was discussions around how communities can work together to bounce back from the difficulties of the last few years, helping to ensure a bright future for the local economy and environment.

Around 300 local companies and organisations from across the city and county of Swansea gathered together to help develop a plan of action for a happier, healthier, greener, more resilient and more prosperous local economy. The interactive format invited attendees to contribute insights and ideas to key opportunity areas, including nature, transport, local supply chain, innovation, buildings and governance.

Those that attended the conference also received a certificate recognising their contribution to Swansea’s Green Recovery.

Ashley Morgan, SWWCCRP Officer, said: “Attending Swansea’s Green Recovery conference was extremely beneficial to our community rail partnership. As a CRP, we are truly passionate about leading the way in making South West Wales a happier and healthier place to live, work and holiday.

“Participating in conversations about energy, transport and the environment, we managed to increase our knowledge of so many opportunities to reduce our own carbon footprints and help showcase the benefits of public transportation in a greener world.

“With key aspects of the conversations focusing on train travel and integrated transport, we cannot wait to see what benefits will come out of the conference and have made our pledge to encourage circular economies and spread awareness of the opportunities available to local communities and businesses across the region we love.”
