Stations in Coventry region sought for Railway 200 school visits

As part of the national Railway 200 celebrations, schools across Coventry are looking to visit 200 stations on the rail network throughout 2025.

Heart of England Community Rail Partnership (CRP), alongside West Midlands Railway and Chiltern Railways, is looking to support students ranging from 5-18 years old to visit stations that can provide space for a group to visit, either outside or inside, as well as the opportunity to take part in an activity.

Activities can range from a talk about the station, to planting seeds, bulbs or trees, an art activity or producing a map for a circular walk from and to the station.

Groups will be up to a maximum of 30 students and can be varied according to the capacity of the individual station.

Each station visited will receive a plaque to commemorate their participation in the project, and a copy of the work produced by the students, as well as featuring on the Railway 200 website and in a special Coventry Transport Museum exhibition in early 2026.

If your station is interested in hosting a visit (even if you don’t have an activity idea yet!), or if you are a train operating company and can help to support this project, then please email staffjke@westcoventryacademy.org and juliasingletontasker@warwickshire.gov.uk.
