The Settle Carlisle Railway Development Company has been recognised in Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards for 2025.

As the world’s largest travel guidance platform, Tripadvisor has unparalleled authority with travellers and diners. This award is based on genuine feedback from anyone in the community who has visited and left an authentic, first-hand review on Tripadvisor over 12 months, making it a valuable and trustworthy designation of travellers’ favourites.  

Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Award winners are among the top 10% of listings around the world on Tripadvisor.

“We are fortunate to have such a beautiful, historic railway line, serving communities from Carlisle in Cumbria to Leeds in West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire in between. We also have our refreshment trolley service, which provides added customer service on certain trains, and we have a great team working in our administration offices. We have brilliant volunteer support from The Friends of the Settle Carlisle Line, who also provide a free guide service and tend the award-winning station gardens.
