Community Rail Network > Team > Ian Savage
Part-time. Working days: Tues-Thurs.
Ian's main responsibility is to develop mutually-beneficial partnerships with the corporate sector, and other relevant organisations, as well as supporting our network of community rail partnerships and other members to secure funding for their excellent projects.
He has an extensive background in the Third Sector, having held fundraising management positions in various national charities over the last 25 years. Prior to joining, Ian's most recent roles were running the associated charities for North West Ambulance Service and before that, Yorkshire Ambulance Service, where he was responsible for health and wellbeing projects for frontline staff, and proving defibrillators for use in communities.
Ian is a strong advocate for volunteering, and holds several voluntary roles himself, in his local community in York. He describes himself as a rail enthusiast who takes a keen interest in developments in the rail network, and in his spare time loves walking and cycling.
