Colleagues from across community rail are invited to join Gloucestershire CRP and the Travel Foundation, supported by Community Rail Network, as they launch the ‘Connecting Climate, Community & the Visitor Economy – Opportunities for Community Rail & Destination Partnerships’ toolkit.
Community Rail Partnerships (CRPs) are invited to join the free webinar on 26 January 2023, (book your place here) to learn more about this innovative toolkit that hopes to help bridge the gap between community rail and destination organisations and increase partnership working with the tourism sector.
Led by Gloucestershire CRP and the Travel Foundation, the webinar is aimed at CRPs interested in learning more about the tourism agenda and how to work more effectively with tourism stakeholders. It will enable CRPs to get the most out of the new toolkit by providing practical advice for joint ways of working with destination marketing organisations and the tourism sector.
The webinar will include speakers from within community rail, showcasing successful partnerships with destination organisations, and will also feature travel industry specialists to help provide wider tourism context.
The toolkit has been developed by Gloucestershire CRP working with the Travel Foundation and features a number of practical case studies from across community rail and the domestic and international tourism sector. It is designed to help bring together destination marketing organisations, train operators and community rail partnerships to work together on realising the potential for rail, other public transport and active travel options in relation to tourism.
This toolkit is part of a funded project sponsored by GWR and Cross Country. Part of the project is to connect with destination marketing organisations to highlight the opportunities and benefits of working with community rail. If you’re interested in attending the webinar for destination marketing organisations, you can find more info and book here.
Although this webinar and the toolkit are aimed at community rail partnerships, station volunteer groups and other community groups are welcome to attend.
