The next Community Rail Education Network meeting will be held online on Thursday 20 April, 10-11am. The session will be joined by the team at Learn Live, who will be discussing their new Rail Safe Friendly initiative and how community rail officers and groups can get involved.
Learn Live runs innovative, interactive, moderated online news channels that bring a world of opportunity and experiences directly into the classroom, home, or business. Each interactive Learn Live broadcast can be attended by an unlimited number of schools/colleges, job seekers or businesses, simply by logging into the channel online.
The Rail Safe Friendly initiative builds on the success of a five-year digital campaign aimed at educating young people across the UK on rail safety. It provides schools and the rail industry with an opportunity to work together using the content from Network Rail’s ‘Switched On!’ rail safety website.
The Education Network is open to anyone with an interest in railway education. If you would like to join the Network and attend the next meeting on Thursday 20 April, please contact Karen Bennett, Education and Youth Engagement Advisor, on karen@communityrail.org.uk.
All notes and recordings from previous meetings are available to view on the Education Network website.
