A bargain ‘Crab A Train’ trip has offered families a great day out in Suffolk this summer.
The East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership (CRP) worked with Greater Anglia to run an event train from Ipswich to Woodbridge at a great price to show people the delights of a day out by rail.
Over 50 people attended the sell-out event, which ran on Tuesday 29 August.
Return tickets were priced at just £5 per adult and £3 per child – and every child received a free bucket and crabbing line, a guide to crabbing, and a colouring book.
Thalia Rushmore, East Suffolk Lines CRP Officer, said: “We were delighted that the event was so popular as this was the first one we have organised. The families had a great time trying their hands at crabbing from the jetty and enjoying all that lovely Woodbridge has to offer.
“I hope that it opened people’s eyes to the fun and convenience of a day out by train and will encourage them to try more days out by rail in the future.”
Alan Neville, Greater Anglia’s Customer and Community Engagement Manager, said: “A day out by rail offers so much fun for families. It is so easy, great fun for little ones and is a great way to avoid the traffic and hassle of finding parking.”
