Education Network meeting – Thursday 16 March
The next Education Network meeting will take place on Thursday 16 March 10:00-12:00 with two main themes to discuss. Firstly, Andrew Norris from Primary Engineer will be talking about the exciting Rail Engineer programme – an opportunity for your community to get involved in some rail-related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) education. Secondly, we will be discussing how you can involve local young people in Community Rail Week 2023 ( 22-28 May). If you would like to attend the session and aren’t currently on the mailing list, please contact Karen Bennett at karen@communityrail.org.uk
Education & youth engagement in the south – meeting update
Also, you may be aware that there was an in-person meeting booked in the South on Thursday 30 March. Original plans included visiting the new battery-powered Greenford Line with Vivarail, but they have gone into administration. And whilst the the back-up plan to visit the Rail Operating Centre at Three Bridges in Crawley on the same day was an option there is another day of strike action planned for the day.
Therefore, Maddy Mills at Southeast CRP who organises in-person meetings in the South has suggested putting Thursday 28 September in the diary for the next meet up. She will let everyone know plans as they come together.
