Fringe activities

Joint headline partners’ TransPennine Express and Northern look forward to welcoming the community rail world to Leeds for the annual Community Rail Awards 2027!  

Working closely with local Community Rail Partnerships, we are exploring a range of optional fringe activities around the main Awards event, so you may want to hold space in your schedule and extend your stay in the area and watch this space as plans are developed! 

Awards attendees will have the opportunity to experience first-hand, the impact community rail has across the North.  Activities may include hosted rail journeys, visits to community-led projects, local showcases and networking opportunities that celebrate the people and partnerships delivering social value across the railway.

Taking place before and after the Awards, these activities will provide additional opportunities to connect with colleagues, share learning and discover examples of best practice – all whilst celebrating the amazing impact that community rail has across the network and on its communities.
