The Friends of Glossop Station have welcomed a new art display in the station’s Waiting Room Art Gallery. This latest exhibition features work from Mind the Gap, a community group of young people working with Glossop Arts Project.
Since its inception in 2015, the Waiting Room Art Gallery has provided a valuable space for local artists to promote their work, hosting over 30 different exhibitions.
Mind the Gap holds wellbeing sessions for young people aged 11 to 18. The sessions target young people locally who may be experiencing a lack of self-esteem and confidence, as well as anxiety.
The new exhibition, the first by Mind the Gap, can be viewed daily in the Waiting Room Art Gallery at Glossop Station. For the project, the group were tasked with making a creature from various materials. The exhibition shows the stages of developing these creatures in a creative and imaginative manner.
The Waiting Room Art Gallery is open weekdays from 6:30am-5:30pm, and Sundays 10am-5pm.
