Barry Coward, a former British Transport Films archivist, is delivering a series of talks and film shows celebrating 200 years of railway heritage.
Barry was a British Transport Films archivist until 1996 and is currently an adopter at Gainsborough Station having previously served as chair of the North Notts & Lincs CRP.
His 75-minute presentation tells the story of British Transport Films, Britain’s largest industrial film unit producing over 700 films and slide shows, created by the British Transport Commission in 1949 and finally closed by British Rail in 1986.
Barry’s next presentation will be at Gainsborough House Community Centre on Tuesday 6 May. Details here.
