Find out more about Platforms for Change programme at next Education Network

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the Platforms for Change project at the next Community Rail Education Network on Thursday 22 February, 10am-12pm.

Platforms for Change is a collaboration between Community Rail Network, the wider rail industry and the Scouts, which will see groups ranging from Squirrels (4-year-olds) to Explorers (up to 18-year-olds) visiting their local stations and engaging in community rail activity.

At the session on Thursday 22 February, interested host stations will be able to learn more about the programme, including what’s involved, how the collaboration will benefit both community rail groups and Scout groups, what activities can be done and health and safety / safeguarding details.

The Education Network meeting on Thursday 18 January focused on the 2024 creative anti-trespass Backtrack Competition and how members can engage with and encourage young people in their area to get involved, particularly with a view to encouraging more video entries. The resources from this session are now available on the Education Network website.

The Education Network is open to anyone with an interest in railway education. If you would like to join the Network and attend any of the upcoming meetings, or if you have any education or youth engagement matters you would like to discuss, please contact Karen Bennett on karen@communityrail.org.uk.

All notes, resources and recordings from previous meetings are available to view on the Education Network website, using generic username ‘Education Network’ and password ‘Z9Y2L79aGjvdYMSE2Khc#80A’.
