How community rail can raise awareness of rail safety across dedicated week

Rail Safety Week, the industry-wide initiative that aims to bring rail safety to the forefront of people’s minds, returns this year from Monday 16 – Sunday 22 June 2025.

Community rail partnerships and station groups across Britain are encouraged to get involved in Rail Safety Week.

There are plenty of ways you can take part:

  • Visit the website for inspiration – there’s lots of ideas and examples of events and activities from previous years
  • Host an open day at your station
  • Arrange a safety workshop with a local school, college or community group
  • Share rail safety messages on your social media channels using #RSW25 and #BuildingSafetyTogether to raise awareness
  • Use the resources – customise the free branded templates to showcase your support and utilise the various resources on the website
  • Attend the Rail Safety Week Conference at Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre on 18 and 19 June – find out more here.

If you are planning an event or an activity, or would like to discuss the campaign further, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the comms & policy team so we can support you in planning and promoting your activities.
