After the unveiling of a National Railway Heritage Awards blue plaque, to recognise an exciting station building redevelopment, West Yorkshire’s Mytholmroyd Station Partnership has been welcoming young volunteers from Northern to the station
The volunteers set to work and by the end of the day the station boasted two newly built and painted compost bins, areas of buttercups cut back, the Friendship garden re-arranged ready for raised beds, and the Elizabeth Garden cleared and tidied, ready for a small pathway to meander through the plantings. 1000’s of spring bulbs have been donated by Hebden Royd Town Council to be planted on the embankments and in the cleared planters on the platforms that will be a picture once again in the Spring for all to enjoy! The partnership would like to thank Northern’s community and sustainability director, Carolyn Watson for arranging the day.
