New River Line CRP creates colouring book to entertain children on train trips

Families are being encouraged to take a trip on the New River line following the launch of a new colouring book.

The New River Line Community Rail Partnership (CRP) has produced the book to help families explore the area and provide entertainment to children as they travel.

The New River Line, operated by Greater Anglia and supported by the New River Line CRP, runs between Broxbourne and Hertford East.

Illustrated by local artist, Jen Kimber, the book highlights the charm and character of the towns along the line, featuring all five stations on the route as well as well-loved landmarks such as Ware Priory, Hertford Castle, and the historic Gatehouse at Rye House.

Free copies of the book are available from Hertford Town and Tourist Information Office, as well as libraries in Hoddesdon, Ware, and Hertford.

Katie Goldthorpe, New River Line CRP officer, said: “We are thrilled to collaborate with a local artist and showcase the heritage and beauty of our towns in such a creative way, we hope it encourages people to explore the area.”
