SLC

SLC Rail and SLC Property are proud partners of the Community Rail Network because they recognise the impact of putting stations at the heart of the community.

Formed in 2019, SLC Rail specialises in helping third party scheme promoters develop strategic plans, win industry support, develop business cases that secure funding, and develop and deliver clients aspirations. SLC Property are property specialists and help clients deliver projects through providing a wide range of land and planning services.  SLC Property's rail and regulation team will also support with navigating complex requirements and are the lead undertaker of third party station changes.

As part of their corporate partnership with Community Rail Network, SLC has committed a maximum of 100 hours of pro-bono support (over a 12-month period) to assist Community Rail Network members with free rail and property expertise regarding station and building projects. Together the businesses provide a great resource for Community Rail Network’s members and utilises experience built up from SLC working on over 100 rail projects.  SLC has recently been recognised at the NCE Awards 2024 for the impact they bring to the sector, winning both the Impact in Local Transport and Impact in Rail awards.

Testimonials

Hayley Byfield, director of Station Hall Herne Hill Charity, said: “As a community project housed in an abandoned station waiting room, we found it essential to get guidance from within the industry.

"Community Rail Network introduced us to the consultants at SLC - their industry knowledge and contacts have been invaluable in engaging with Southeastern Rail and advising us on how best to take our project forwards. Our ambition to make the community arts centre accessible has still got a long way to go, but with the help of Community Rail Network and its partners, we hope to get there faster and better.”
