Hampshire’s Petersfield Station hub set to reopen

Free Shop Friday has been a popular event at Petersfield Station

To celebrate the re-opening of The Hub Travel and Tourism Information Centre at Hampshire’s Petersfield Railway Station, the East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership is holding a short promotional event on Friday 28th May between 13:00 – 14.30.

Following the easing of national lockdown restrictions, the partnership is delighted to promote Petersfield and the surrounding South Downs National Park once again to the general public and welcome visitors to travel to this beautiful area by train. Information will be available on train and bus services, local walks, cycle rides and attractions so that once visitors arrive in Petersfield, they will have many diverse opportunities to explore the area.

As in previous years, the partnership aim to have knowledgeable and helpful volunteers staff the Hub every Thursday to Sunday between 1000 and 1200.  Longer opening hours will be provided if additional volunteers are found.

Following the reopening event, the Hub will be open over the Late Spring Bank Holiday weekend between 1000 and 1400 to encourage visitors to:

  • Find out about volunteering opportunities with the East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership
  • Hear about our ideas for further exciting projects, including the Cycle Back to Health project aimed at getting adults back on their bikes later in the Summer and opportunities to hold further community social events in the Hub.
  • Plant a sunflower and bring a smile to travellers faces over the summer months.
