Sharing best practice on safeguarding: join the next Education Network

At the next Education Network meeting on Thursday 21 March, 10-11am, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in an open discussion on safeguarding, risk assessments and DBS checks when working with young people. Attendees will be able to share best practice and discuss ideas of how this work could be further supported by Community Rail Network. Training and development coordinator Alex Peel will also be joining the session to discuss potential future training opportunities.

The Education Network meeting on Thursday 22 February focused on the Platforms for Change project, a collaboration between Community Rail Network, the rail industry and the Scouts, which will see groups ranging from Squirrels (4-year-olds) to Explorers (up to 18-year-olds) visiting their local stations and engaging in community rail activity. Community Rail Network is keen to involved as many station groups and CRPs as possible with the project – if you’d like to know more or want to sign up, visit our webpage.

The Education Network is open to anyone with an interest in railway education. If you would like to join the Network and attend any of the upcoming meetings, or if you have any education or youth engagement matters you would like to discuss, please contact Karen Bennett on karen@communityrail.org.uk.

All notes, resources and recordings from previous meetings are available to view on the Education Network website, using generic username ‘Education Network’ and password ‘R!*x*SeMC(v6wH9aEu0gCnl*’.
