Last chance to showcase your local days out by rail in Scenic Rail Britain blogs

Scenic Rail Britain, Community Rail Network’s tourism and leisure campaign, is seeking local insights and knowledge from across community rail to contribute to two upcoming blogs.

The blogs will launch next month (March 2024) on the themes of ‘unusual places to stay’ and ‘Easter family fun’.

‘Unusual places to stay’ aims to showcase a range of unique accommodation properties that are within reach of railway stations. We’re looking for places to stay that are near to railway stations and have an unusual feature such as converted railway carriages, old station houses, farm hideaways, vineyard glamping, forest cabins, stately homes or even a castle!

‘Easter family fun’ will be aimed at families looking for greener adventures in advance of the Easter holidays. We will be highlighting ideas for days out by train which may include visiting tourism attractions, parks, walking/cycling routes, etc. We’d love to showcase any special events that you may be hosting at stations/venues as well.

If you have suggestions, events or content that you think would fit into either of these themes, please send the details to Alice, Campaigns & leisure promotion coordinator by 5pm on Thursday 22 February.

If you’d like to discuss content in more detail for this or future campaigns, please also get in touch.

The next Tourism Network session for members is being held on Tuesday 9 April. The full agenda will be confirmed in early March, but if you’d like to attend please contact Alice.
