Paul Goddard

Paul is currently a volunteer director with Southeast Communities Rail Partnership and the volunteer chair of the steering group for the Uckfield and East Grinstead lines.

Through his work as the volunteer chair of Crowborough Community Hub - a project refurbishing the disused part of Crowborough Station into a space for the community, by the community - he became aware of the good work of Community Rail Network in providing funding and guidance for many worthwhile community projects and organisations.

Having attended the Community Rail Conference for the past two years, Paul realised that more could be done to improve diversity and inclusion on the Community Rail Network board. Paul was born partially sighted and registered blind in 2008. His current guide dog is called Stevie. He is thrilled to have been elected to the board to share his lived experience and to represent the disabled passenger and community partners.

Paul’s very varied career includes being Head of Wardrobe for CITV at ITV in Birmingham, and The Disney Channel at The Walt Disney Company in London and Florida. Paul is also a fully trained funeral and wedding celebrant and currently serves as a Crowborough Town Councillor, as well as the deputy mayor of Crowborough.
