Following our recent session on gender-based barriers to travel and White Ribbon Day showcase, one of the most popular requests for future webinar topics was ‘placemaking for safety’.

Community Rail Network members are invited to this online session to meet Jess Coleman and Sean Bastow from the British Transport Police (BTP).

Jess Coleman, Community Engagement Specialist, will talk about her role, how members can work with the BTP, and reporting of a wide range of issues including anti-social behaviour and violence and intimidation against women and girls.

Sean Bastow, Designing Out Crime Officer (DOCO), will talk about how to design out crime through interventions like CCTV, lighting, gardening and maintenance. These measures can deter anti-social behaviour at stations, and create safer spaces for everyone.

There will be lots of time for questions afterwards, and Jess will become a key contact at the BTP for all things community rail.

Book your place.

If you have any questions, please contact Jenni on j.jones@communityrail.org.uk.
