Southeast Communities Rail Partnership has been assisting a resident of an East Sussex town do good deeds for her community.

A very determined local resident, Amy Fieldhouse has spent the last year and more planning, looking for local support and funding for a community fridge to serve the community in Uckfield. The fridge – which contains donated food that may otherwise go to waste – is situated in a container on a grass area at the town council-owned hub site.

The project has been supported various local agencies including the Town Council and Southeast Communities Rail Partnership. The partnership wanted the station to show its support for Amy and her wonderful initiative, and have done so by installing a colourful information display on the station’s community noticeboard to spread the word to the town’s rail users.
